Crowns

Crowns are restorations that cover or cap teeth, restoring them to their natural size, shape, and colour. They are needed when there is a need to strengthen teeth that are mechanically weakened (e.g. teeth with large cavities).

Crowns may also be used for modifying the colour or position of teeth.


Bridge

A bridge is a custom device anchored to adjacent teeth that replaces one or more missing teeth. Losing a permanent tooth – whether it is due to dental decay, periodontal (gum) disease, injury or accident – can cause many serious problems for your neighbouring teeth. The remaining teeth may begin to shift due to altered forces, the surrounding teeth also will deteriorate faster due to increased forces and stresses on them. Once the bridge is in place, the teeth are stable again.

A fixed bridge is commonly cemented to the natural teeth next to the space left by the missing tooth. A false tooth (called a pontic) replaces the lost tooth. The pontic is attached to the crowns that cover the adjacent teeth. The crowns, which are cemented onto the natural teeth, provide support for the bridge.

Veneers

Thin, comfortable, perfectly sculpted, enamel-like porcelain is fused to the front of your teeth to transform your smile in as little as two visits.

Veneers are thin custom-made porcelain shells designed to fit discreetly over the teeth, making them indistinguishable from our natural teeth. Veneers may be used for modifying the colour or position of teeth. Veneers can improve the appearance of your teeth in the following situations:

Discolored teeth due to root canal treatment, stains from medication, excessive fluoride or other causes, or large resin fillings that have resulted in the tooth being discoloured

• Broken or chipped teeth
